How to close the manual gaps around ERP without turning the ERP itself into a custom project.
Standard ERP flows rarely cover every plant-specific file, warranty format or service scenario. So teams fill the space with Excel imports, email reminders and manual validation. The ERP looks fine on paper while the real process runs on workarounds beside it.
Pushing every exception into the ERP core makes upgrades harder, locks logic behind specialist backlogs and turns a data-flow problem into a platform project. Most warranty and factory-file gaps do not need ERP changes at all. They need a controlled layer next to it.
The automation layer takes on validation, transformation, enrichment and import preparation, then talks to ERP, PIM and service systems through agreed contracts. The core systems stay standard, the exceptions stay documented, and the manual workarounds finally have a place to retire.
